Ice Hotel News and products

Tourist accommodation is considered as a main motivational factor in the industry, and as said by Gnoth (1997), motivation is what leads to satisfaction. People choose to spend more of their holiday budget on accommodation that suits them than on transport to their destination (Shaw,2007).
As flight fares have gone down since deregulation of the skies in 1997, and with tourism increasing every year, hotels and resorts have become an essential and profitable business. It is therefore important for these hotels and resorts to consider gaining competitive advantage. This can be done through differentiation (Porter) or added value to a product. In this industry, and with the growing trend of interest of original / ecological / or just simplicity of design, interior and exterior architecture and decorations are a major way of adding value to the product on offer.
Therefore, we have chosen to represent three examples of accommodation that represent different concepts of differentiation, which we believe should be awarded due to their original designs.

Ice Hotel News and products:

The original Ice Hotel was set up in Jukkasjarvi in Swedish Lapland (Arctic Circle). It is built up every winter and since 2001 has been designed by Marjolein Vonk. This is a major work of art: a joining of ephemeral material and a successful business all in one.
