GLASS: Beer Bottle Solar Water Heater

It is always challenging to realize both creative and innovation design, but when you incorporate sustainable on top of it, it is a considerable achievement.
In this category, we will be witnessing the rebirth of things from the use of fabric of everyday.
We separated them by the most known fabric : Glass, Plastique, Wood.

GLASS: Beer Bottle Solar Water Heater

This ingenious device was created by a Chinese farmer in the Shaanxi province. The device collects water that heats up in the sun to then provide three decent showers, all of this with empty beer bottles and hose pipes!

"Let there be Light"!

An original way to enlighten your home is by using the bottoms of clear glass bottles...This can also create a beautiful coloured effect by using different coloured bottles. Recycling, therefore sustainable, but also creating a unique design for a unique home.

PLASTIC: Earthship Biotecture epitome of sustainable design and construction

The second contestant as not only use recycle material like glass bottle like the previous one, but used 5000 cans, 10,000 glass bottles and 750 used tyres. Those houses that this company is developing in the US are 100% sustainable. They are the most Versatile and Economical building design in the world. Earthship can be built in any part of the world, in any climate and still provide you with what you need to survive.

(Talk) Thanks to Mike Reynolds foundator of this organisation, they built more than three thousand homes on this model, the majority being located in the state of New Mexico, United States.
Besides the structure of tires, these homes are completely autonomous by collecting rainwater and using solar energy. South facing, large windows capture the sun's rays. The air circulates and warms the house that has no opening south side. In winter, covered with soil walls and keep store the heat, while in summer they cool the atmosphere.

Here is a taste of what it look likes around the world.

The Magnetic Cup

Many people take coffee or thea from breakfirst to diner. This could really be use as a daily basic.
The idea behind the Brothers in Arms espresso set was to express a sense of unity between objects within in the series. Using embedded magnets as connectors, each set of cup, saucer, and spoon becomes a conjoined false single piece. A clever design sure to catch the curiosity of each new user.

Ice Hotel News and products

Tourist accommodation is considered as a main motivational factor in the industry, and as said by Gnoth (1997), motivation is what leads to satisfaction. People choose to spend more of their holiday budget on accommodation that suits them than on transport to their destination (Shaw,2007).
As flight fares have gone down since deregulation of the skies in 1997, and with tourism increasing every year, hotels and resorts have become an essential and profitable business. It is therefore important for these hotels and resorts to consider gaining competitive advantage. This can be done through differentiation (Porter) or added value to a product. In this industry, and with the growing trend of interest of original / ecological / or just simplicity of design, interior and exterior architecture and decorations are a major way of adding value to the product on offer.
Therefore, we have chosen to represent three examples of accommodation that represent different concepts of differentiation, which we believe should be awarded due to their original designs.

Ice Hotel News and products:

The original Ice Hotel was set up in Jukkasjarvi in Swedish Lapland (Arctic Circle). It is built up every winter and since 2001 has been designed by Marjolein Vonk. This is a major work of art: a joining of ephemeral material and a successful business all in one.

Solar Energy

Bioclimatic measures are often combined with the use of solar collector panels to heat hot water. Since they first developed in the 1970s, these systems have demonstrated their efficiency (Gauzin-Muller, 2002).
This design combine the natural solar energy in an Eco-friendly environment to a camping tent. An even greater step toward a green world.

In a world were more often tourist go on ecologist holiday, an chose not to go in hotel but more often use tent, this could be a ingenuis way of being green, and not arm the nature with electrical energy.

In the same category we wanted to introduce you the Solar charging iPad case that use the same energy designed and organized in a different way. We found out that this product was elected by the public as in the 21st century most of the population now possess an apple product, and more often Iphone and Ipad. Which consequently this product will be a good use on a everyday basic for mass population.

9 Hours Hotel

We now move on to a concept based on simplicity....In Kyoto, Japan, has been introduced the notion of "capsules" as rooms. The concept is to "rejuvenise body and mind" (9 Hours Hotel). Men and women are separated and these pods have been designed simply for sleep. For this, a system has been installed on each "pod" so as to create the appropriate ambience and to support each individual's personal sleep rhythm.

Domaine des Ormes

Finally, our last choice is one which is increasingly trendy in the world of tourism, and also concerned with the major issue of environmentalism. The following is a camping site in the Brittany region of France. Instead of using camping cars or tents, customers stay in wooden cabins placed up high in trees that are centuries old. The concept here is to find yourself at heart of nature. Including a bit of fun in the way of getting from tree to tree!
These are snug cabins, providing views of the woodland below and offering the possibility of being at one with nature...
